Pippin and Friends

A topical comic based on both real-life events, modern culture and in-jokes as told by a group of anthro characters. You'll either love it or hate it. This comic updates irregularly and was started in 2006 under the name 'Pippin and Bob'. Its name changed to 'Pippin and Friends' in 2007 and it was launched online in 2008. In 2012, it became even more sporadic with posting, as I started working full time and a change in graphics program hit productivity hard. It still updates occasionally, but sadly these days thanks to work and several periods of ill health, those updates are few and far between, but it remains a pet project and quite dear to me. Enjoy!

News

Ten Years... (Well, twelve, but who's counting?!)

So. Over ten years old. Wow.

This comic hasn't been shown much attention as of late. Some of this is due to work, some of it is due to effort, some of it is due to health issues leading to a drop in productivity. All of it is due to adulthood. Don't become an adult, kids!

Still, it remains a work in progress, albeit very slowly. It's like my comic baby. Most P&F comics these days stay as sketches shared between friends but never get completed to full-colour magnificence. It's a shame, but that's life for you. However, P&F is still very much alive. I would like to revitalize it if I can - that may be a future goal.

It could mean more hand-drawn comics over computer graphics. It could mean more quick sketches and less finished works. It could mean many options. Or it could mean nothing at all!

And so we celebrate its tenth (well, twelfth) birthday - a decade of purple felines and evil Bobs! We have a few new characters now, and a lot more nerd references to draw upon for inspiration for the future.

Launch

Yep, just as the generic 'smackjeeves-your-comic-starts-today' post claims, today marks the launch of my "new" two-year-old comic. Pippin and Friends started in early 2006, under the name 'Pippin and Bob' and was drawn primarily for my friends at school (the characters are all based on people I know) based on in-jokes, topical conversation, real events, fandoms etc. etc. Two years have passed since then and I find myself a second-year university student about to take her first step from teenagerdom into the dreaded world of adulthood...
The comic doesn't have a timeline - I draw what I feel like and post the same way, so it will update irregularly.
I hope you enjoy my little input into the world of internet comics. Happy reading!
